10 throughts on "Rekindling"

  1. Does does mean a Cindy and Jen reunion will happen? Will they rekindle their lesbian relationship?

  2. I honesty cannot overstate how excited I am for the re-ignition of this absolutely wonderful feud! Once I saw who the three participants were (my three favorite characters across both branches of the series) I simply couldn’t re-up my subscription to the BSL fast enough.

I have absolutely adored the rivalry between Cindy and Jennifer since I first heard about your sites, it was actually the principal reason in which I signed up in the first place. There simply isn’t another rivalry across either roster that comes close to the intensity of the emotion between Cindy and Jenn’s hatred (and lust) for one another.

That being said, I love the approach that this chapter took. Cindy challenging Hani, humiliating her in front of Petr AND Jenn, it’s going to add an angry Czech element to this new rivalry that is beyond my wildest hopes. I’ve been waiting and hoping that Hani would face Cindy some day, but to do so in this manner, to become another part of the famous feud between Cindy and Jennifer, I’m without words. Just…thanks so much.

While I may be waiting to see if this new three-front war (at least that’s what I hope it will be) spills over to the BWL before resubscribing there as well, rest assured that once blood is spilled (figuratively speaking, of course) I will be first in line to show my appreciation.

    Take care,
    Capo

    1. Your enthusiasm means a lot to me.

I’ve missed Cindy and Jenn, too. They’re characters I love working with. And you can be sure there’ll be some BWL spill–I just can’t say when.

  3. While I certainly understand that you don’t want to give away any future plans that you have for this rivalry, but I do hope that you wouldn’t mind answering this question; is Hani’s involvement with the rivalry done or is she going to have a continuing place in it?

  4. I’m with everyone else; sexuality is a spectrum, fluid and complex. I love that the BWL/BSF explores different kinds of relationships and sexualities. Most all the BWL-Girls identify as bi, some with a strong male bias and some with a stronger female bias. I like the way this can be used to explore differernt types of love and relationships, and more complex, non-tradtional pairings.

CindyXJenn is an expecially complex one; they are both bi, though they’ve developed a female bias over time. They did TRY to become traditional, monogomous, lovers, but it didn’t work for them….the passion in their relationship lies in their competition. This BSF story, wherein Cindy challenges Hani for Petr…is Cindy’s love letter to Jenn. She’s the one that fucked up their relationship…and Jenn is the one she hurt and betrayed. Fucking Hani and having Petr send it to Jenn as a ‘challenge’ is really her way of saying, “I’m sorry baby, I want you back.” There’s something sweet about that, even as it’s a strange, twisted, kind of love.

Both of them now realize that, yes, they love each other, but neither will ever be satisfied with a traditional relationship…they won’t be getting married and settling down (at least…not while still in their sexual prime). They need to be competing over something in order to be able to properly express their love and lust for each other.

Hani’s words are particularly interesting in this, because she’s completely right, “She doesn’t love you! She’s just using you.” This is a great bit of writing on Entropy’s part, because it does a few things to make this whole delicate situation work:

    A) It establishes that Hani loves Petr, thus cementing her role in this new…double triangle? Square? Hani DOES have genuine feelings for Petr, and is hurt by this.

    B) Petr is VERY callous about his betrayal of Hani. Having been the trophy for so many women for so long, he’s gotten a bit of a swelled head, going with whoever the winner is. Petr does not care about love. To me least…this makes Petr unlikable. And that is OK.

Petr needs to be an unsympathetic character because he’s been reduced to the status of trophy for Cindy and Jenn. He’s a bone of contention for them to fight over to facilitate THEIR love. When Petr throws Hani aside, this makes him unsympathetic to us as a reader, which thus allows us to enjoy his inevitable suffering, which he is now inviting upon himself…this is called schadenfreude.

Schadenfreude is one of the most difficult forms of comedy, because it has very specific rules and borders on the edge of cruelty. Entropy sets this up very deftly here.

I am really looking forward to seeing where this goes! This is a great piece of writing! Thank you!

  5. I have to say that I both disagree and agree with ForeShadow’s assessment of the relationship between Cindy and Jenn. While I agree that Cindy and Jennifer have a complicated mix of hate and love for one another, I have my doubts on whether that affection is first in Cindy’s heart. Looking at the history behind the busty brunette, I have to wonder if it isn’t the thrill of competition and conflict that truly drives Cindy?

With Jennifer her motives have always been clear; as much as she loves fucking good looking men, it’s always been the act of taking men away from hot women that’s motivated her. When the blonde finally set her eyes on David, Jenn found herself in competition with a woman who she couldn’t simply fuck once or twice into submission and force them to skulk away with their tail between her legs and her man between Jenn’s. No matter how many times Jenn would seduce David and fight/fuck Cindy, Cindy would always come back ready for more, winning a fair number of their confrontations and forcing David to switch mates more then a few times. When it came to what was supposed to be the final fight both women realized that it wasn’t the prize of David that kept them fighting, it was the chance to be with each other that kept them going. Thusly, at the end of the fight we find Cindy and Jenn leaving together and riding off into the sunset together.

This isn’t news, everyone has known this since it happened. However, while most people see what happened next as Cindy screwing up her relationship with Jenn, I see it as the first love of Cindy making itself apparent for the first time since re-entering a ‘normal’ relationship. What I think happened is that with the encounter with Eduardo and Jenn, Cindy simply couldn’t let go of that high she got when she was competing against Jenn, that thrill of winning or losing. Cindy simply couldn’t help herself, she had to be in conflict to get that thrill I believe she came to need like a junkie needs a needle and we all know what happened after that.

With this in mind, I can’t think of this chapter and this fight against Hani as Cindy’s ‘love letter’ to Jenn, though I’ll admit the thought has a great deal of appeal. What I think this is is Cindy needing that thrill back in her life, that challenge of fighting Jenn for the prize.

Again, I have to say that I completely agree with ForeShadow that Cindy and Jenn have feelings for one another, albeit a weird mix of love and hate. If it was only the thrill that Cindy wanted there’s any number of women in the league in relationships that she could have fought with for their man. No, Cindy definitely wanted to directly challenge Jennifer and probably because out of anyone it’s the platinum princess that she loves (both emotionally and to compete against). However, when I see that Cindy has picked Petr to be the mountain to be Queen of instead of another man, to defend her claim against anyone that would come to try and take him from her, it’s more then just choosing a good looking man that would entice Jenn into reigniting their war/relationship, it’s an addict needing a stronger drug to get the same high.

One just cannot talk about Petr without talking about Hani, they have a history that is so intertwined that it’s next to impossible to separate them. While many men have been in relationships at one time or another in the two branches of the whole series, there has been few that has had such a hellcat of a woman defending her territory, viciously fighting against any who would even think of stealing her man. Hani has taken on all comers for Petr and has more often or not beaten them to a pulp (rhetorically speaking).

Again, not news, but why would Cindy pick a man already so thoroughly claimed? Why pick a man that she would have to defend her claim against not only Jenn, but against the she-devil herself, Hani?

Because the busty brunette needs stronger competition to get the same thrill.

So, while Cindy is reigniting her “feud” against Jenn partially because she loves/hates her, her choosing Petr because she wants…no, NEEDS more. Cindy NEEDS more competition, more of a challenge and who better to raise the stakes then Hani? Someone who will constantly be stalking whoever possesses Petr currently, someone who will simply be waiting for a moment of weakness to swoop in and challenge her (or Jenn, depending on the circumstances), someone to add in another factor to the ongoing war between these two semi-lovers.

I’ll admit I’m probably overthinking this, but as far as I’m concerned as much as Cindy wants Jenn again, it’s her choice of men that is the dominating factor in this opening salvo of this rekindled rivalry. Cindy knowingly choosing a man so vehemently defended wasn’t just to entice Jenn, it was to entice Hani into entering the field of this battleground, to raise the stakes.

And I can’t wait to see what happens lol.
