Last week, Rita was supposed to sexfight her lover Eduardo, but the Canada Border Services (formerly Customs) Agent who almost spoiled her plan to move away from Saint-Tremblé made an impromptu visit to the No Holds Bar. Karine challenged Rita to a sexfight and, since the blonde won, she gets to spend some time in the sack with Eduardo, per Saint-Tremblé customs.
(Full Disclosure, I haven’t read this yet)
I should have mentioned this in the last episode, but I really like Karine.
I have a real soft spot for the Outsider characters. The outlier characters that appear to disrupt the status quo. I just like the way they mix things up and the way it expands the BWL World/Universe outside the confines of the BWL proper.
Megan, Melanie, Candy, Rita (ironically enough), Jolene, Prudie, MacKenzie, and now Karine. I just like how it suggests that the amazing women of this world are not limited to the BWL, and the kind of threat that outsiders represent to the status quo.
It’s very comic booky to me to see the world (even if it’s slowly over time) expand outside the main roster.
I hope Karine sticks around! I appreciate how complete her backstory is, and how it makes sense that she be a nemesis to Rita in particular, though I hope that she will not be limited to menacing Rita.
Good Lord this was awesome
I completely agree with Foreshadow; this is one of the two reasons why I like the ISO episodes so much.
Also, this episode really is a statement on how the gents and ladies in the BSF universe are wired; you could even call it an anti-Hollywood love-story.
Hollywood: Deep emotions lead to sex, everything else is wrong.
Entropy: Competitiveness leads to strong emotions and sex which leads to even stronger emotions via victory or defeat which in turn may lead to deep emotions and hence to love.
