It all started in January when Caribe fought Don and ended the fight with a hand job. Don’s girlfriend Melanie didn’t appreciate that, so she went behind Caribe’s back and drained Paul minutes before the stripper started to fuck him. Result: no erection and a bruised ego. Then Caribe found out about Mel’s little joke, and she didn’t find it funny one bit so she arranged to do the same and drain Don, but Mel caught her in the act. Words were exchanged, a challenge was issued. Here it is.
What a shocking defeat! Still, I feel like it’s the best thing for Melanie’s development as a character, and I like her rededication to training. I’m sort of split on her obsession with losing weight…
On the one hand, I like Melanie just as she is, and feel she serves a role in the BSF that hasn’t been filled since the character of JoAnne was briefly around (she only appears twice I believe). I’d sort of like it if her arc was ultimately that she comes to terms with her body image issues.
On the other hand, there is nothing wrong with self improvement. It’s hard to gauge how sever Melanie’s body dysmorphia issues are, given the exaggerated nature of the characters of the BWL, but there’s nothing wrong with her chosing to adopt a healthy lifestyle of exercise and proper diet in the name of self improvement. Many of done this, most notably the amazing Denise Milani who went from voluptuous pin-up girl to hardbody fitness competitor…a valid life choice that was questioned by her fans. It’s an issue unique to women, and I’m glad to see it explored in the BSF, because it’s sort of hypocritical the pressures that are forced onto women.
Melanie is pretty much damned if she does and damned if she doesn’t. Society tells her she’s not beautiful because she’s “fat”, but society also tells her that she’s unattractive because she’s strong. She’s beautiful no matter what she does.
This is the kind of complexity and depth of character and thematic exploration that elevates the BWL/BSF to me…it’s erotica at it’s finest, but also a great way of exploring feminist themes in what is obsentsively a male fantasy. I can’t think of any other erotica site that makes anything approaching this quality or intelligence…great work!
