  1. Awesome set this week. Sophie look sooooooooooo good with the new rendering that you have been using. I only hope to see more of her in 2014! (I man can dream right?)

  2. Always love a Rita episode, and I am always fascinated by an Amazonolgy episode, so the marriage of the two brings me profound enjoyment!

I actually am a little shocked to realize that this is the first time we’ve seen the two come together, as it’s such a perfect way to explore the unique culture and world building you’ve done with Saint-Tremble and further flesh out the society and how it works…and, indeed, highlight the world building you’ve invested into the world of the BWL/BSF though the conceit of Amazonolgy. It’s a great conceit for explaining the sub-culture of the BWL/BSF world an how it all works and what motivates the characters. This is part of what buys you so much suspension of disbelief. It’s a great piece of writing!

And, of course, the art is just fantastic as always…I am finding myself more consistently wowed by your art since the switch to the new style…even your visual storytelling has become more ambitious of late (EX: image 17 is just gorgeously composed…I LOVE how you framed Prof LeBlond between their limbs, creating a secondary panel that highlights him to go with Sophie’s pleading that he not witness her defeat, and I love the warm highlights on Rita while Sophie is dropped into the cooler shadows).

This was a really exciting episode, and beautifully erotic. I particularly liked that you took the time to show the aftermath of the fight and follow through on the stakes you established at the beginning and show the emotional impact of Sophie’s humiliation, which resonates thematically with the idea of Amazonology. I also liked LeBlond’s dedication to his craft in that he must struggle to remain unbiased given his personal affection for Sophie, which makes for both a compelling romance and great drama. I think the LeBlond/Sophie pairing has quietly become the most stable and mature relationship in the League, which is nice.

    Great work!

  3. I wouldn’t be opposed to seeing more of Sophie she looks great. I was hoping she embarrassed Rita, but am not too dissapointes with the outcome.

  4. Great story, but I was disappointed that Sophie was so easily bested. She is my favorite character and I hope there is more of her in the future. Also, whatever happened to (I think) Joanne?
